Potion Review: Weleda – Cold Cream

PRODUCT: WELEDA COLD CREAM
BASICS: COLD CREAM | $16.50 / 1 oz | CRUELTY-FREE – PLANT BASED
HERBS: SWEET ALMOND, PEANUT, ESSENTIAL OILS

My go moisturizing product has been Pond’s Cold Cream for my entire life.

It has never made me break out, gets every speck of makeup off at the end of the day, and shields my skin from the elements in harsher weather.

Unfortunately it has a dirty secret – mineral oil.

I’m reluctant to part with my face’s long time beau, but for now you could say they’re in an open relationship.

I do need a facial moisturizer – there are quite a few non-essentials in people’s beauty routines, but that’s something everyone should use.

So I’ve decided to experiment, starting with Weleda, a brand I respect and trust.

The bottle is rather small – luckily a little bit of the product goes a tremendously long way.

However, it’s not so potent that I could use it for a makeup remover.

It’s great for locking moisture in – for example, if you’re outside in the wind or the cold a lot, this product, I would imagine, would get the job done.

While it does moisturize, it left my skin still a little bit thirsty after application.

The scent is nice and subtle – it smelled a little citrus-y, if anything – fresh.

I was pleased with the product, but admittedly I should have read a bit more about it before purchasing.

I am going to look into other moisturizers in the future, and maybe I’ll revisit this one in the winter months, but I’m not ready to break up with Pond’s just yet.
