Homebrew: Tea – “Cooling Sleep Tonic”

TYPE: HERBAL TEA.
HERBS: NETTLE, SKULLCAP, ELEUTHERO, PEPPERMINT.
USES: CALMING, ANTI-ANXIETY, SLEEP AID, VITAMINS.

This is a delicious, relaxing, nourishing herbal formula I’ve been drinking at night that I liked enough to share with you all here!

It’s a blend of nettle, skullcap, eleuthero and peppermint.

The nettle adds a rich, earthy, ‘green’ flavor – the herb is highly nutritious, especially to the nervous system.

The skullcap is a nervine and a gentle calming agent, which I’ve found useful to help me unwind at night.

The eleuthro is an adaptogen meaning it nourishes the body and helps it “adapt” and adjust to help combat any outside stressors or ailments – I’ve found it helps to improve my overall energy level.

The peppermint I usually only add a tiny bit of for flavor, but provides a host of health fortifying benefits, as well as having a soothing taste.

While I’m currently experimenting with ratios, I always add about a tablespoon of coconut milk per cup – the fat helps the absorption of the nutrients and medicinal constituents of the plants.

I’ve found the drink to be delicious both warm and cooled – if you try it please let me know what you think!
